COPACABANA: EXETER-EMELY FUN.

This is a poem (a review some might say) about some people who act and dance, written with love from someone who draws.

The trip to Exeter was not my first,

So the show had a lot to live up ta’,

In the car we’d been listening to Olly Murs,

One Direction and Frank Sinatra.

As we found our seats in the theatre,

I did wonder (I’m afraid to say),

What would happen if I jumped into the Orchestra,

But instead we sat down in Row J.

The lights went down and the music had begun

We were amazed, excited and gripped,
Perfectly in time, many limbs were flung,

And not one single person tripped.

The whole show was breathtaking,
When the interval came along,
I didn't even want to go for a wee,
I just wanted to hear more of your songs.

For me, the two brightest stars on the stage,

In a cast already gleaming with light,

Were an amusing couple of uncertain age,

With whom you would not want to engage in a fight.

Gladys Murphy was portrayed by Rosie Archer,

Whoever cast this part was clever,

As our eyes and ears were drawn to her,

She was radiant and witty as ever.

Freddie McManus played Sam Silver,

A grumpy but kind hearted soul,

As he argued his way from scene to scene,

His brilliant performance made us all LOL!

The rest of the cast performed incredibly,

If only I had your theatrical ways,

In that world, I would dance around perfectly,

And not look like a mental case.

So thank you, THANK YOU, cast and crew,
You truly did yourselves proud,

We jumped right up off our seats at the end,

And screamed embarrassingly loud.

IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Here's design for a brochure for a Christmas Carol service I've just finished. 

Festive work is fun! Happy Christmas all xx

She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, and she gave me a pen.

A three image narrative based a quote from the film "Say Anything". A girl breaks up with a boy and gives him a pen, and he is not very happy. I used the pen and heart as phallic symbols. Bit cheeky.

"Words are supposed to be your thing!"

Lyrics from a couple of my songs, they'll be a part of my portfolio which will have a narrative theme.

SING ALONG WITH SALLY

For my latest project about professional practice, I carried on an idea that I had at the beginning of the year for a smaller project. I wrote and recorded a live two track EP, and made the artwork for it, with lyrics inside the case and a perforated detatchable mask of my face for the ultimate sing-along experience. It's part of a press-pack type thing that I'll be presenting, along with gigs I've played and people in the industry I have been talking with, talking about self-promotion and what I want to do with my life...agh. This is the first of (maybe) many!

I think the printers thought I was a bit strange. "Is...is that a photo of your face?"

BABIES!

First post in over a year... woops. Finally some third year work! This some imagery from my final major project. My project is entitled "Childbirth" and my piece follows the progression and growth of a foetus, showing both the romantic/human aspect against the more mechanical side to the process. The book is screen printed and french bound, with each page slightly transparent, so when you put it on a light box, you can see the baby being produced inside!

SIRcus

I'm currently working on a narrative project for our course. My story is about a man who has a circus inside his head controlling what he does. This is the tightrope walker, and she helps keep his moods balanced, and the better she is at tightrope walking the less clumsy he is.

The top picture is a drawing that me and my friend Simon Cheadle did on the train. The bottom one is what me and my sister do over the christmas holidays.

the changing rooms

Above is a series of images I made based on the women in the changing rooms at the gym I (sometimes) go to. They love being naked.

anagramz

For a typography project. My anagram was Seeks Bra Fat - Fake Breasts. It's a naked clay lady and shows the transformation from one phrase to the other. I got bruised arms from carrying this clay around London, it is so so heavy, if you don't believe me then come to our studio and I'll let you carry it.

"That bloody bus driver's gone and made me yawn now"

Here's some work from my graphic novel called "Morning Yawning". It follows a yawn that gets passed through different people and different situations. I yawned a lot during this project.

first experiences

My final major project is on first experiences.. above is one of my first (almost) finished double page spreads for the book I'm making called 'My First...'. It's about someone's first haircut.

ALPACA FUR

Above is a baby alpaca and his mum. They are happy until somebody shaves all his mum's fur off and makes it into a jumper. So he finds that person, and he makes a hat out of her. The End.

duckz

This is a double page illustration I did in my sketchbook recently. Me and my friend Dan saw some ducks all swimming in a line, and he said wouldn't it be funny if there was a really long bike they were all riding under the water. I haven't decided how I want to paint the water yet, so I guess it's a work in progress.

This is a business card i designed for our soul band. I don't know what I'm implying by drawing us all as dogs.
